Dragonflies "Bugs"

by Brent J.

This image was no. 8 is a series of dragonfly shots, each one a great example of a macro photo.  This one has a good use of depth of field and sharp detail.  You can even see the hairs on its legs!

Moth on Flower

by Geri Lawrence

The composition in this photo is beautifil and the play with lighting looks as though a golden ray has shined down on this beautifully detailed moth.  Wonderful color.

Photo Challenge of the Month - May "Reflections"

1st Place

Reflection in Time

by Charity

This is such a wonderful shot. The reflection in this photo is so well done, as well as the idea of reflecting back by the capture of the old gas pumps and use of sepia tone.  It instantly gives you the feel that you have stepped back in time.

2nd Place

Benson Grist Mill at Dusk

by Kae Olson

Another great example of reflections; not only in the window, but of going back to the olden days.  This photo has beautiful color, great detail and nice composition.  And, it was taken at the Tooele City Photography Field Trip!

3rd Place

My Rearview Mirror

by Samantha Mikesell

This is a fun shot and a creative idea.  There is the reflection in the mirror, which also has served as the background for the photo.  Who wouldn't want to see this scene out of their rearview mirror!

Photo Challenge of the Month - April "Spring"

1st Place

Baby Mallard Ducks

by Geri Lawrence

This spring shot couldn't get anymore precious!  The color and exposure are great.  The depth of field and composition work wonderful together.  Fantastic photo!

2nd Place

Bleeding Hearts

by Sheila O'Driscoll

This is a beautiful, sharp capture.  Good use of depth of field and the color contrast of pink and green is very striking.  This image definetely conveys spring!

3rd Place

Spring in Utah

by Terra Sherwood

Besides this photo showing a true Utah Spring, the capture on this image is well done.  Good composition, wonderful lighting and color contrast.  We love the white snow and pink buds against the stormy sky.  Good work!

Photo Challenge of the Month - March "Green"

1st Place

The Apple of My Eye

by Alisha Lundell

We really enjoyed the color tones in this photo, the creative use of the challenge Green, the good exposure, the fantastic composition and crop and the delight in this childs smile.  Well done Alisha!

2nd Place

Green Iguana

by Geri Lawrence

No one can argue that this photo is Green!  We love the depth, the vibrant color and the sharpness and detail of this little guy.  Great shot Geri!

3rd Place

Paradise

by Alex Childs

We liked the many different shades of Green in this photo and that the color seemed to even reflect into the sky giving it a Seafoam/Aqua color instead of bright blue.  Nice landscape Alex!
